THE INTERNET ALLIANCE: MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

The Internet Alliance offers its members a variety of advocacy, networking, and information services that even the most successful corporation cannot perform alone:

• Monitoring of Internet-related legislation in all 50 states, and tracking of any other legislation that may be of interest to IA members (see Information and Resources for sample reports);
• Working against legislation that would give government a more global role in regulating the Internet and unnecessarily slow its growth;
• Ensuring that industry messages are heard by policy makers and the media;
• Articulating and protecting the interests of members, so that no member is forced to weather political or public relations storms alone;
• Initiating discussions between industry and lawmakers on important emerging topics such as online security services and intellectual property protection;
• Weekly telephone calls with IA staff and other members from January through July;
• Lobbying in the 50 states; and
• Other special projects as requested by members.
